Mission Statement

The goal of The Art Bridge Collective is to establish a thriving celebration of the arts and its many benefits in the community through public outreach, courses and shows celebrating participant artists. Through this impact, and networking the collective intends to seek additional advocates and donation based funding for continuing the program independently as well as establishing a yearly fundraiser within the community that those who have taken the classes may participate in, and gather support from peers, friends, and neighbors.

The main focus of The Art Bridge Collective is to improve connections, communication, mental health and growth in our society as a whole. The path forward is aimed at providing community art classes addressing the various needs of the community.  Examples of this include: communication and bonding between parents and children, processing of traumatic events and life changes, outreach for the loneliness epidemic and crisis in men’s mental health, providing a healthy outlet for youth voices to express themselves and more. Each class offered would provide an art course and open discussion around topics to allow a natural flow of communication, discussion and support through this honest connection. According to Parent Cue “Families Only Spend 37 Minutes A Day Together,” not accounting for the distraction of devices.  The art classes would provide a structured face to face interaction time, where parents and children can build a communication journal together in class.  This can be carried into their regular lives and used to write letters about difficult subjects, or just simple letters about their day during the other 23.25 hours of the day thus allowing them a bit more of a quality connection. Another resource and need in society The Art Bridge Collective aspires to address focuses on men’s health and loneliness.  Through an art course focusing on Superheroes, Pop Art, and defining masculinity, men can express their beliefs and form connections with others in the class to create a bond that is carried beyond the walls of the community class. Another project that I feel passionate about involves providing youth with a voice through art. One of the most popular artists of our time Banksy is inspirational as a voice through art. By allowing the participants of this course a lesson in regards to stencil art and a provided canvas which can later be displayed publicly, these artists will have the opportunity to express a message with meaning to the community and be celebrated, featured and heard. Ideally with enough funding these classes and materials will not cost participants a dime, unless they choose to donate, but the benefits going forward will continue on in the community.
